Back from the honeymoon...

Just got back from our honeymoon tonight...

We spent a relaxing week up on in Caloundra, on the Sunshine Coast. Friends from work organised our accomodation in a unit at Bullcock Beach from Sunday to Friday (thanks Alicia & Ruth!) but we were enjoying it so much up there that we stayed the weekend also. The weather let us down a bit, overcast and rainy most days, but today was beautiful so we spent the day cruising from beach to beach.

We got there Sunday night and spent most of the night unpacking and settling in.

The next day we went for a walk into town for breakfast and had our first married fight {:) Without going into too much detail, we had our brekky, then went back home to mope, watch TV and not talk to each other - LOL, can laugh about it now :)

After a beer, Scott felt much better and loved me again, so we went to Coles and did some shopping for a week's supply of honeymoon food. We got steak, salad ingredients (probably the only healthy stuff), potato salad (from the salad bar), seafood salad meat, ham, bacon & eggs, corn chips, salsa, frozen yum cha meal, frozen steamboat meal, frozen chicken roll things (kinda like a Chicko Roll), frozen chippies, cruchy chocolate and strawberry ice cream, jar of boisenberries, tin of lychees, crumpets, maple syrup flavoured pancake mix (yum!), jam, honey, popcorn for movies (didn't end up eating it though), drinking water (coz we forgot our filter), carton of Crunchie Easter eggs (50% off coz after Easter - whoohoo! :)... that's probably about it. Was a good collection and we managed to work our way through it all. Mmmmm... the memories :) Ate the steak for dinner that night.

On Tuesday we decided we wanted to stay the full week, so started visiting holiday units around Caloundra, looking for places with availablity for Friday and Saturday night. We found some really nice places (and a couple dodgey ones) but liked the look of and price of the last place, Campbells Cove, which is up the hill next to Kings Beach, where we went for a late arvo dip. Was sooo cold when first getting in, but you get used to it, and the waves were fun! Had our chicken roll things for dinner.

On Wednesday, we went shopping again... bought a few more groveries, as well as a cheap DVD player from K-Mart, a new pair of sunnies for me. We went down to the local Internet cafe for a little while so that Scott could check out his work emails. We also checked out a couple more holiday units but decided we'd go with Campbells Cove - was equivallent to the cheapest ($250 for two nights) and had a beautiful view of Kings beach and the rock area. We borrowed a couple of moofies from Video 2000 (Video Easy wouldn't loan us any movies, coz we didn't have evidence of our address in Caloundra grrr coz we had coupons =P) - some King James movie and Stepford Wives. Feeling slack, we also ordered a couple of Eagle Boys pizzas. Num num :)

On Thursday we were rudely awakened (wasn't that bad, just wanted to use that phrase) by the unit cleaner who had came a day early (wasn't due until Friday morning). Anyway, got the dates all settled then got up and out 'n about to the beaches. We had a short swim at Dicky Beach, then decided to go to Curamundi for a fish & chips and a swim. Got to the fish & chips place but they were closed that day (of all days!) so we went to check out the beach. There were no flags out, so I didn't want to swim in the surf (safety concious me) so we went to check out the river. The river didn't look that exciting (used to be nice pool-type areas where you could just sit and relax, but it looked all shallow, sandy and ripply, except for one main deeper area where there were people at. So we decided to take a few photos, then had a play with a dogey frisbee I got from my old gym. We were pretty unco at first, but we got the hang of it and had a merry time. We moved the game into the water, where we had a nice little splish splash. At home that night we enjoyed out left over pizza and salad. We had to pack up that night so we could be out by 10am the next day.

On Friday, we moved into our weekend unit at Campbells Cove. We had a yummy breakfast of bacon & eggs then headed up to Mooloolaba to check out Underwater World. We got there at about 12pm and enjoyed checking out all the cute fishies and demonstrations/shows. The seal show was really cool. If we had of arranged it earlier we could of had a 'Seal Encounter', cost about $40 each and you get to get a photo with seal on your lap (or something - they'd be too heavy, surely??) We ducked outta UwW and had fish & chips (at last!) at a place in The Wharf. We had a little wonder around the shops (it was a bit of a raining, miserable day again) so went back to watch another seal show at UwW. Unfortunatly it was the same as the first one, but the seals were stillv very cute. After UwW we drove around to check out the Mooloolaba beaches. We parked our car then took a walk down the beach and over the rocks all the way to Alexandra Headlands - then had to walk all the way back! Scott made us power-walk to try work off the fish & chips! On the way home, Scott spotted an A-Mart All Sports shop where we bought a couple of boogie boards. We ate our Yum Cha and Steamboat stuff for dinner that night.

On Saturday, we went kayaking with Blue Water Kayak Tours from Golden Beach over to Bribie Island. It was beautiful and kayaking so much fun. It was nice an intimate too as Scott and I were the only customers that day, so it was as if we had a private kayak tour. Our guide's name was Dean who was impressively knowledgable about the marine & wildlife in the area and gave us some interesting facts about Bribies formation. We got to see many varieties of birds and saw some jumping fish and stingrays in the water. We stopped a couple of times on Bribie and walk across the narrow part of the island from the calm river side to the beautiful beach. That night we watch a movie and finished off our frozen goods (left over Steamboat pieces, ice cream and Split iceblocks) and ate some salad (to get a bit of vegietables in our bodies!)

Sunday (today) was our last day, which we spent enjoying the sun (at last!). We packed up our stuff in the morning and then headed down to Kings Beach to test out our boogie boards. I caught a few fun waves, but the surf was a bit rough, so I found it a bit hard getting back out again to catch another, and got a bit frustrated {:) Scott meanwhile was having a ball body surfing in the bigger waves. He had a play with the boogie board after me and I watched him get knocked off a couple times in the big waves. We moved onto Dicky Beach, but left pretty much immediately (can't remember why). We decided to get some fish & chips, so headed down to Curamundi. We ordered a couple of Aussie burgers and a serve of fish & chips (we were such piggies) and ate it all before heading down to the surf with a Crunchie Easter egg in hand :) We spotted a cute little crab so got a couple of photos of it running up Scott's arm, then wandered down to the beach for a cuddle. Ahhh... was lovely. We watched the few swimmers and surfers in the water. A couple of surfers kept getting in trouble by the lifeguard for being inside the swimmer flags, but other than that, everyone seems to be swimming safely :) After our chocolate, we headed back to the car for our drive back to Brisbane.

We miss Caloundra already... and want to one day buy a house up there so we can live there permanently {:)

On Monday we got an Annulment - just kidding =P~
