More venue tours...
We checked out four places over the weekend. I wish I brought my camera with me to these places, coz then I could publish photos. Here's what we thought of them...
- Comfort Inn Robertson Gardens
Nice, but not perfect. It has a little gazebo area for a ceremony, but is a little far from the function room. There is another little ceremony site next to the function room but is not as cute as the gazebo area. In general, the price was pretty good (about $70 a head, including most decorations and accommodation) but it just didn't seem quite right... - Grand View Hotel
It's a pub with a function area. They had some photos of nice looking function set-ups, but its really too close to the public bar area... not really intimate... - Beenleigh Yatala Motor Inn
They're situated about 150m from the Pacific Highway so noise is too much of an issue. - Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens
I really like Bundaleer. It's a gorgeous place set about 30 mintues outside Brisbane in Brookfield. Leanne, who showed us around, was really friendly. Their current special is pretty good - ceremony, reception with DJ and unique decorations scheme with fresh flowers for around $50 per person (min 60 guests). No additional service fees or ceremony fees. I reckon that's a pretty good for what you get. Only problem - no air con! If they had it they'd be a high contender. Need to have a think about it... maybe we can hire some sort of air con system... I am just concerned about the December heat.
*sigh* We still need to a bit more looking I think. We were hoping to finalise the date this week, but I think we need to look at some more venues.
I've recently found a new wedding directory website - The Wedding Scene - might find something in there... most places seem to be in Gold Coast though. Oh well... I'm open-minded :)
I've also been scanning through my copy of the Brisbane Entertainment Book and found quite a few places that might be worth checking out...
