Found THE dress!
Alicia took me wedding dress shopping today during lunch. I wasn't expecting to find much as most of the dresses I have seen have either been too formal or too plain - but I found it!
It's so pretty. Simple but not plain, AND it actually looked good on me (to tell the truth, I looked so 'unspecial' in the other gowns I had tried on so far that I just thought that it might be normal for me to look weird in a wedding dress {:-)
Anyway, I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow so that I can bring it up to Cairns with me on Wednesday (going up for the next couple of weeks) to show my Mum and girlfriends back home. Hope Puppy doesn't jump on me while I'm trying it on =P~
For ya'll interested in the particulars, I bought the dress for $395 from The Bridal Centre which is in Queens Street Mall. It is a white dress, long (but doesn't have a train), has ribbon-looking straps - very thin, has silk inside and some chifon on the outside with a bit of a ruffle in the front of the skirt and a little bit of gather chifon around the waist. The top part is like a bodice or something, it's form fitting with some sort of firm support in there. Overall it is a very light gown - so show be good for our planned Summer, garden wedding. I'd show a picture of the dress but I don't want Scott to see it before the wedding... I know I kinda described it above, but that's all jibberish to him so he won't understand it anyway =P~
Picked up the dress today - it's so cool. I need to buy some sort of shawl to go with it (I tried on a chifon shawl at the store at the time that went really well but belonged to another dress). Need shoes as well... I'd like a pair of heels (maybe sandals) but must be comfy. The store also had a white faux pearl choker for $30 that looked really nice with the dress. I'd love to get that too but I'm not sure if $30 is a good price for that kinda thing... I'll take a couple of weeks to think about it while I'm in Cairns {:-)
